Last day

Mike and Andee (the expats we’re house sitting for) me and Dave

So today is our last day in Costa Rica, Mike and Andee (in the pic above with us)  got home 2 days ago safe and sound. As a matter of fact, Dave’s wallet made it back on the same day...finally! Turns out it had been stuck in customs in Miami since Feb 22nd because there was cash in it (less than $200). It’s illegal to send money in the mail to Costa Rica so they just sat on it. Why they couldn’t have called us to ask for further instructions right away is a mystery! We would have called earlier too but we were giving them LOTS of time to deliver isince things always work slower here. Better late than never I guess.

The only interesting thing we did between the trip to the Caribbean  and leaving was a repeat hike back up to the 3 crosses not far from the house. We did it last year in perfect weather, this time, not so perfect. It was pretty overcast at times so the views, although good, were not spectacular like last time as you’ll see from those pictures.

Didn’t feel like a difficult hike this time either, made it up to the 3rd cross in just about 90 minutes even though it was still a 500 ft elevation gain. Like I said, pretty foggy!

So we thoroughly enjoyed hanging out in the 6,000 square foot house in Costa Rica and looking after Rocky. It was a nice break from the 25 foot trailer but we are looking forward to getting back to our own “stuff”! Thanks again Mike and Andee for giving us this great opportunity!!!!
